Neil Aspin spoke to The Sentinel who report on all port vale news after the game and this is what he had to say:

“Watching it back, he has put it in with his hand, so it is another decision that has gone against us.

“But I said before the game that I wouldn’t stand here and make excuses after games, and I won’t do that today.

“Our defending in the second half, especially for than ten-minute period wasn’t good enough, and we got punished. We need to do better.

“We were 2-0 in front but I wouldn’t say we were flying, I thought we were fortunate on a few occasions where they got round the back of us.

“So, I would have to say I thought we were fortunate to lead 2-0 at half time. I knew it would be a difficult second half, but we got pushed too deep. I thought their forwards dictated to us in the second half and we got punished.

“You would expect the second goal to be chalked off, that was a big point in the game. But if you come away against any team at this level and score two goals you should be taking something home with you.”
